Simple Specials List for v4

A simple, yet useful modification to allow you to display the exact products, categories and site documents you want in a side box, all in one list. The three sections are each optional. This menu is ideal as a replacement main 'Shop by Category' menu. Features include the following:

• Display specific categories, products and site documents in a list.
• Allow products, categories and site documents to have custom names specific for the list (not language system compatible).
• The ability to order categories, products and site documents, however only between their own sections.
• Optional Homepage Link.
• Optional Sale Items link, when in sale mode.

The list is generated from an option box in Admin edit pages for the products, categories and site documents. If no items are enabled, the box does not display.

The mod comes with a selection of templates:

1. A simple text only list, similar to the 'Popular Products' list. This is the default template.
2. A list with images.
3. A scrolling list with images.
4. 'Shop by Category' style template, with Homepage and Sale Items links.
5. A quick links drop down menu.

Currently only basic information is displayed, the mod can be customised further with prices for the products if required. Please contact us if you have specific requirements. One benefit of this modification is that is can be used as a menu list as well, eliminating the 'Shop By Category' box and allowing the use of hidden top level categories.

We use this mod in our top left 'Quick Access' menu.

An additional mod to make this much easier to manage is our Frontend Quick Edit mod, allowing products and categories to be edited from links in the store. Simply click on the product or category, and go straight to the edit page in Admin.

Requires Ioncube Loaders to be installed, check with your hosting for compatibility before purchasing.
